An utterly exasperated history of modern Britain: John O Farrell

I listened to this audio book and enjoyed it so much I bought it for my husband.

Interesting overview of stuff I vaguely remembered hearing about but had only as much knowledge of as you get from the 6 o'clock BBC news in the 70s. (I'm not saying it's that bad!) Recommended to all 48 year olds or wannabe 48 year olds one day.
